This is one of the best hacks for digital (travel) nomads… You already might have heard for it and know what I’m talking about here, but if you haven’t – this one might be a game changer…

SO, HOW TO USE YOUR SMARTPHONE AS A WIFI HOTSPOT?

It’s the feature built in the software of your Android phone, Iphone, Blackberry or Windows phone, and to activate it, you should (for most of these) just go to the Settings feature and then search for Personal Hotspot/Mobile Hotspot/Connections/Internet Sharing – depending on what brand of phone you’re using.

WHAT’S SO COOL ABOUT THIS FEATURE?

If you’re a freelancer and you have daily work that has to be completed (on your laptop), and if you’re a passionate traveler and adventurer, then you know how tricky sometimes can be to find a WiFi hotspot when you’re basically in the middle of nowhere.

Europe is more/less almost completely covered with 4G mobile internet, and even if you’re in a small island village nobody heard of it before in Greece or secret, stunning beach somewhere in Spain, it’s most likely you’ll have access to mobile internet.

THE CHEAPEST WAY TO DO IT

I find that the best option (at least for me) is buying a Mobile Internet Prepaid SIM card. For example, if you’re heading to Greece – I definitely recommend Cosmote carrier– you get something like 10GB for 10 euro SIM card price (lasts for a month and after spending all the data, you can recharge the card) or in Croatia Hrvatski Telekom – 7 days of flat mobile internet for just 11 euro…
