Potentially very useful info I came across the other day: the 2024 Digital Nomad Index by VisaGuide.World!

If this is your first time hearing about it, basically it’s a “comprehensive ranking system evaluating and ranking countries based on their suitability for digital nomads. The index considers various factors critical for remote workers who travel and live in different countries.”

For Croatia: “Temporary stay of digital nomads” from the Ministry of the Interior website:

You can apply for the application in person or online – provide a valid travel document, along with the health insurance proof for the period you plan to stay in the country; a proof of purpose; a proof of substance (that you have money to support yourself); a proof that you have not been convicted of criminal offences and you should provide an address in Croatia. At the moment of writing this:

“The amount required on a monthly basis is a minimum of 2.539,31 EUR which can be shown through a bank statement showing proof of regular income or payslips for the last six months. 

Alternatively, if you intend to stay in the Republic of Croatia for 12 months, you can provide proof that you have a minimum of 30.471,72 EUR already available in your account.”
