How it all started
HIGHLANDER was founded in 2017 in the beautiful mountains of Croatian seacoast where couple of enthusiast gathered to celebrate nature and explore the mountain of Velebit.
It was just a hiking adventure… turned out really an inspiring story coming out from this area of Europe. And the best thing about it: it’s for everyone! Not just the pros!
Carefully designed by local mountaineers
Even though this is a long-distance hiking event, it’s not aimed just at professional hikers, but at all folks who love nature and outdoor activities.
All trails are carefully “designed by local mountaineers, so every trail offers unique experience and story for you to take home, share it… and eventually come back for a new one.”
HIGHLANDER comes in 4 formats:
Hercules – that lasts 5 days
Pegasus – 3 days
Orion – 2 days and
Lyra – that lasts 1 day.
Sustainability and preservation of nature
Their philosophy is: „Take only pictures, leave only footprints.”. HIGHLANDER strive to follow principles of sustainability during the organisation of its hiking events.
