Indie Artists: PAUSE PHOTO SERIES: VLADIMIR JANIC PHOTOGRAPHY
Vladimir was born in Subotica, Serbia in 1998. While still in high school he had the first solo exhibition called “American Presidents Through History” that was officially opened on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of “American Corner” in Subotica, later displayed across the country. Apart from drawing and painting, Vladimir has developed a great interest for movies, there were times when he watched three films a day, and this passion for film led him to video and photography art. Camera became an integral part of his appearance – it was always in his hands, sometimes even as a way or method of communication with other people.
During the graduation ceremony for high school, Vladimir has been awarded for outstanding results in cultural and public activities and for active participation in the philosophical-film section. In the same year, 2017, he enrolled into the study program New Art Media at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
Some of his projects are: Cogito (a social experiment in which he placed different individuals in a space under the same conditions monitoring their reaction while they manifest their response to the physical space they were placed in); a project in which he tried to answer the meaning of “Absence / Presence” with different visualizations, as well as a series of photographs called “Pause” (capturing students in the break during lectures).
